Welcome to my CaliPaso Winery wedding photography page. This is where you’ll find helpful information about CaliPaso and my style of wedding photography. I’ll also show you some of my favorite spots for wedding photos at the winery.
About CaliPaso Winery
CaliPaso is this great villa in northern San Luis Obispo county and is located just off Hwy 46. It’s easy to get to from the 101 and has on-site accommodations for the newlyweds as well as several guest rooms to rent.
One of the main features of the venue is a beautiful double staircase leading up to the groom’s room. This area features a fountain, a large grassy area and those amazing stone staircases that amaze everyone who sees them.
CaliPaso Wedding Photography
CaliPaso offers several ideal locations for wedding photos. One is, of course, that amazing staircase that you see above. This spot is great for the entire wedding party since even large groups can stand on the stairs or even be in front of it all, using the stairs as a beautiful backdrop.
Another one of my favorite spots is just to the side of the staircases where beautiful vines have grown up and over an arbor walkway and it’s just perfect for couples portraits. One of my favorite pictures to take here is to simply have the bride and groom holding hands and walking toward me.
There are lots of trees on the property as well, which helps when the Paso Robles sun gets a bit intense. The olive trees near the Winemaker’s Suite offer a wonderful backdrop as well as providing shade for those hot afternoons.
Just to the side of the reception area, where the villa’s guest rooms are located, there are these amazing arches that are great for couple’s portraits. This location works well when the tables aren’t set up yet, and I love it when I can get a few photos there.

Winemaker’s Suite
The winemaker’s suite is perfect for the girls to get ready in. It’s a spacious apartment with a large bedroom on either side of a main living area. Large French doors let in tons of natural light and both suites offer a full bathroom and bedroom. This is the perfect set up for the bride and bridesmaids to have plenty of space.
Groom’s Room
The groom’s room is above the grand staircase and is set far away from the Winemaker’s Suite, so there won’t be any accidental bride sightings.
Outdoor Reception Area
The outdoor reception area is spacious and can hold very large wedding receptions. The area is well lit and outdoor heaters can be placed in the event of a cool night.

Couple’s Portraits at CaliPaso
CaliPaso offers several locations for couple’s portraits. The best part is that they are all very close to the reception site, which means you’ll have more time with your guests! The grand staircase is a favorite among couples who get married there. My personal favorite is a lesser known area behind the main building where there’s a path and particularly beautiful scenery.
Large Group Portraits
Family and wedding party portraits are usually done in front of the main double staircase. The grassy area in front of the stairs is perfect for family portraits. The stairs themselves are great for the wedding party as long as it’s just after the sun goes behind the buildings to shade the stairs.
Wedding Ceremonies
Ceremonies at CaliPaso are typically done outside on the grassy lawn in front of the staircase. Other locations could work for smaller weddings, but the lawn is what most couples prefer.

How To Find CaliPaso
From HWY 101:
Exit at HWY 46 East and turn East.
Follow HWY 46 for 0.7 miles.
Turn right on Buena Vista Drive.
CaliPaso will be on your right with signs for the unpaved parking area.
